Carol Lopez, Women’s Volunteer

My name is Carol Lopez, and I’ve been teaching the women’s class Sexual Sanity for about a year now. I agreed to teach this class because of the powerful way God delivered me from the struggles I faced in my own relationships, and I wanted other women to know they are not alone.

Scripture, especially 1 Corinthians 6:18–20, makes it clear that sexual sin stands in a category of its own. For many of us, it can become a cycle that feels impossible to escape. Here at Steelbridge, we serve women from all walks of life, and I see incredible engagement—women raising their hands, asking questions, taking notes, meditating on Scripture, and even repeating verses week after week.

These women are ready for change. They’ve lived through seasons they never want to return to, and that hunger for transformation is what keeps me coming back every week. Being part of this journey gives me a deep sense of belonging and purpose.

I truly believe God is showing me that nothing I went through was wasted—He is using it even now. Hearing other women’s testimonies gives me hope and reminds me that healing is possible as we continue walking forward in our journey toward Jesus Christ.
