Development Director
Steelbridge Ministries is seeking a Development Director to lead fundraising, donor engagement, grant development, and community partnerships. Working closely with the Executive Director and colleagues across the organization, this person will build relationships and develop sustainable support for Steelbridge’s mission.
We’re looking for someone who is relational, organized, creative, self-motivated, and passionate about serving in a Christian ministry.
What You’ll Do
Lead fundraising and donor engagement
Develop fundraising strategies and campaigns, including direct mail, email, and digital appeals.
Build relationships with current and prospective donors.
Lead donor thank-you, stewardship, retention, and re-engagement efforts.
Support planned and legacy giving opportunities.
Maintain donor records and track fundraising results.
Manage grants
Research funding opportunities and prepare grant applications and proposals.
Track deadlines, awards, and reporting requirements.
Work with staff to gather information for proposals and reports.
Grow events and community partnerships
Plan fundraising events and sponsorship opportunities.
Build relationships with churches, businesses, foundations, and community organizations.
Represent Steelbridge at community and fundraising events.
Coordinate donor and sponsor communications and follow-up.
Collaborate across Steelbridge
Partner with the Social Media Coordinator on fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and storytelling.
Coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator where partnerships and volunteer engagement overlap.
Work with program and administrative staff on shared initiatives.
Coordinate with vendors supporting direct mail, printing, planned giving, and other development needs.
Oversee reporting and administration
Manage the Development Department budget and fundraising expenses.
Maintain accurate records for campaigns, grants, and events.
Provide regular development reports to the Executive Director and information for Board reporting as requested.
What You’ll Bring
Experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, donor relations, business development, marketing, communications, or a related field.
Strong writing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Sound professional judgment and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Grant writing and experience with a donor database or CRM are preferred.
