Cesar C. resident Testimony
My name is Cesar. Before coming to Steelbridge, I was in prison for nine years and eight months after being sentenced for vehicular homicide. I carried deep heartbreak for the three lives that were lost.
On February 10, 2014, while sitting in my cell, I fell to my knees and surrendered my life to the Lord. I asked Him for forgiveness and questioned why He spared my life instead of taking it that day. From that moment on, He began transforming me. When my family came to visit, they asked what had changed. I told them I had given my life to the Lord, and they said my character was different. I knew it was the Holy Spirit working in me.
I chose to come to Steelbridge to grow closer to God and continue the work He started in my life while I was in prison. I believe He gave me a second chance at life, and I want whatever Jesus has for me. To me, Steelbridge is a place of restoration where God molds and shapes us.
One of the most impactful changes in my life is the peace He has given me. I no longer live with anger. I can speak calmly, and I see His power through the transformation in my heart. I have experienced a new and better life through God’s power, just as Scripture says that endurance produces character and character strengthens our hope.
My relationship with God continues to grow stronger through the quiet time I spend with Him each morning. I wake up, go straight to His Word, and begin my day in prayer. I have also built healthy relationships with the family of faith here at Steelbridge, where there is mutual respect and encouragement.
My goals are to find a good job, remain productive, and become a positive member of society. I also want to be a better father and grandfather while continuing to grow closer to our Heavenly Father.
My encouragement to anyone struggling is this: repent, surrender, and accept the love of God. Open the door and let Him be the Lord of your life. Trust Him to transform you. Come to Steelbridge and join the journey, a journey that begins on earth and leads toward eternity.
