A Bridge Over Troubled Waters by Anthony

I remember taking a trip with my mom and dad to my cousin's wedding in Pismo Beach, California. I was in the 9th grade and active in football and basketball. No drugs or alcohol had ever entered my body and I was an honor roll student. We stopped on a bridge somewhere along the way and took a picture. A picture of the three of us on a bridge. It was on a steel bridge. It’s a great memory of the best time of my life.

Fast forward a little bit... my mom and dad passed away, I have three sons and three daughters, more family and adopted kids, and I am separated from all of it because of my weakness for drugs and alcohol. I was separated by sin.

In that separation from my friends and family, Jesus, my heavenly father, took hold of my life and brought me out of my foolishness. The Lord has mercy on my life and restored me with his amazing grace by sending me to the discipleship program at Steelbridge Ministries!

Shortly after finding Jesus, I went back to that same steel bridge from the picture, just like I knew I would someday, and I looked up at heaven and to my parents, and I said “Look at me now”. It was time to get back to what counts in my life. First and foremost, my God.

Thank you so much Steelbridge ministries for helping me on my walk and sending me back to church with such an incredible Pastor leading the way. I’ll be baptized this Easter Sunday! Hallelujah! And to make a long story short, I am heading home mom and dad, with my kids and beloved family to see you again, like a bridge over troubled waters. Thank you, and I love you Steelbridge.
