Partnering with DECA: Inspiring the Next Generation of Business Leaders

We’re excited to share an inspiring partnership between Steelbridge Ministries and local DECA students, Aprameya R. and Scarlett H.

DECA is a national program that empowers high school students to explore careers in business through real-world, hands-on experiences. As part of their Team Management project in the area of Business Solutions, Aprameya and Scarlett chose to collaborate with Steelbridge to identify opportunities for organizational growth and community impact.

Their project focuses on addressing two key areas:

  • Strengthening donor consistency to ensure sustainable support for Steelbridge programs.

  • Increasing public awareness about the many services and outreach efforts Steelbridge offers to individuals and families in need.

To meet these goals, the students are creating a dual set of outreach materials:

  • Informational cards and flyers inviting individuals in need to community feedings and services.

  • Donor-focused materials encouraging community members to support Steelbridge through giving opportunities.

They are also exploring creative business collaborations — such as local “round-up” donation programs at checkout counters — to help generate ongoing support for the ministry.

Through this partnership, Aprameya and Scarlett are gaining valuable, hands-on experience in business strategy and community engagement, while helping Steelbridge extend its mission of hope and transformation across New Mexico.

Our ultimate goal is to spread information in every way we can — to increase donations, reach more people in need, and make a lasting impact
