Summary of Psalm 40 written by Bri
This chapter I love I opened my Bible and started to read open up was Psalm 40. This was four days ago, and as I meditate. On it today, it speaks to me, I cried to the Lord for help in my despair (jail, addiction, feeling lost) he heard my cry, led me to Steelbridge and gave me a new song to sing (His word). “Many will see what he has done and be amazed.” Many say great things about me, and I am amazed because the only understanding I get is it must be from God. The light I shine today is through him and I am thankful to hear from others what I cannot yet see in myself. I put my trust in the Lord and feel the joy in my soul through his trust. God truly has performed many miracles in my life. I am out of addiction today working on a very bright future and beyond thankful to know it’s his works and wonders.
My ears are open to listen, my heart seeks for the Lord to guide me in his will not my own.
I can now sow this joy and fulfillment.
I have found and know through people who are willing to listen and see, hoping I could guide them in any way to seek the Lord because He listens, and He does!
By sharing my testimony about His unfailing love, faithfulness, and saving power, which is the Good News working in my life. How great are you, Lord (new song I sing).
12 “For trouble surround me too many to count.” My sins pile up so high I can’t see my way out. They outnumber the hairs on my head. I have lost all courage.
13” Please, Lord, rescue me come quickly, Lord, and help me.” Trouble surrounds me daily, but I have a choice to stay faithful and be obedient to our Lord, and this is where I find courage instead of losing it, because God is so much more than the past I lived without Him.
The Bible says He will never forsake me, and through that I have faith and will continue to repent for my sins now that I am a child of God.
14 “May those who try to destroy me, be humiliated and put to shame, may those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace.”
Verse 14 has been speaking to me this week deeply and hitting me in my thoughts as I stumbled due to people trying to destroy me, I will rejoice and pray to God, for I know my heart is pure and I pray for my enemies because they don’t know yet of the Lord or the peace in the Lord as they sin, I have sinned and fallen short, so I must understand and show Christ through me in opposition, hoping they be humiliated for being blind, not for their delight in what is evil and hoping they turn back in disgrace and find the Lord’s grace.
The Lord is great! The Lord is great!
17 “As for me, since I am poor and needy, let the Lord keep me in his thoughts. You are my helper and my savior. O my God, do not delay.” I was drowning in the world lost, lonely and slowly killing myself. The Lord saved me and didn’t delay.
Thank you, Lord, my God, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
