Jarred G. Residential Testimony
Hi, my name is Jared. I was incarcerated at Los Lunas prison for eight months due to a probation violation. I came to Steelbridge because I could not parole back home, and my family told me I needed to get help before returning. So I filled out an application and was accepted into the program.
My journey here has helped me connect with my emotions and learn how to deal with them while staying sober. My relationship with God has become an important resource as I face the changes in my life. I am now able to make my own choices, and those choices show me that I am learning to be independent.
One skill I am most proud of is seeing myself grow into a hardworking man in the electrical field. I have also learned to humbly walk alongside others and work with them. Through this process, I have begun to overcome my dependency on my family and take responsibility for my problems on my own.
My hopes for the future include getting a reliable job in Albuquerque and becoming an independent man with a firm foundation in Christ.
When you open your eyes and realize what is truly important in life, it can save you. Money, clothes, houses, and other material things do not matter in the end. What really matters is being open to change and applying it daily to become a better person.
