In ancient times, lepers were social outcasts - and for good reason. The disease they had was so infectious it could wipe out an entire community. Lepers were avoided, neglected, and ignored. They were unpleasant to look at and smell. They even were required to yell out “unclean” when they were around other people.
The homeless, addicted, and destitute in modern times are our version of social outcasts and untouchables.
Jesus touched lepers. He healed them. He made it clear that no one is untouchable and that everyone matters to God.
Steelbridge Ministries serves as the tangible “hands and feet of Jesus” as we head into 2019. Every day, we work to restore the homeless, addicted, and destitute. The good news that they are loved and can be given a new life is proclaimed to them.
When you partner with Steelbridge, you join us in bringing the healing love of God to the outcast and untouchable in Albuquerque.
