abq rescue mission is now steelbridge

In 2017, the Albuquerque Rescue Mission becomes Steelbridge. The mission of "transforming lives through the power of God's love" remains the focus of our work.

The expansion of Residential Programs at our downtown campus reflects our response to the changing needs our city. Capacity for housing men and women in our programs has almost tripled. Today, there is room for 72 men and 26 women in the New Life Program for men and Women's Center of Hope.

Our emergency services for the public have increased and been relocated to just outside the downtown area, at the Steelbridge Resource Center (2021 Second Street NW). In a strategic move to reduce duplication of services, we collaborate with The Rock (2400 Second Street NW) to provide meals for the homeless and those suffering from food insecurity.

The needs of our community have changed since 1954. We've changed to meet them. The work we do is needed now, more than ever.

new life

Transforming lives through the power of God's love.

We live out this mission by sharing the hope and love of Christ while meeting basic needs and offering long-term solutions that empower people toward a more stable future.

Since 1954, we have been a source of hope for our neighbors in crisis: the addicted, homeless, hungry, and abused.

We provide food, shelter, clothing, counseling, residential programs, and other resources that offer men and women the opportunity to transform their lives.

We receive $0 in government funding. Everything we do is because of the generosity of people like you.

women's center of hope

changed lives

For up to 24 months, our free residential programs provide drug and alcohol recovery, job training, continuing education, and Biblical discipleship to men and women. We are dedicated to teaching the skills necessary for a life transformed.

We hold firmly to the following core values:

Dignity. We believe in creating a radically inclusive community where people are treated with dignity and respect regardless of their ethnic, economic, legal, or religious status.

Hope. We believe true hope is found in a redemptive relationship with Jesus Christ.

Transformation. We believe transformation occurs in the hearts of those serving and being served, as God redeems hurting people and broken situations.
