donating food

Thanks to the generosity of individuals and corporate donors, The Albuquerque Rescue Mission serves over 300,000 meals annually to the homeless and poor in Albuquerque. We also distribute thousands of food boxes to neighbors struggling to make ends meet.

We gratefully accept food donations at our Downtown Albuquerque location (525 2nd St. SW). It is always helpful to call ahead (505.346.4673). We do not typically pick up donations, but if you have an extraordinarily large or unusual donation, please call us to inquire about a pickup.

Please consider that non-perishable, bulk, and staple items (dry and canned) are best. We are usually able to accept even prepared foods, as long as it is fresh with the packaging intact.

If you drop off the item in person, you will be given an in-kind gift receipt that describes the item(s) and allows you to assign a value. If the value exceeds $500, you may be required to file IRS Form 8283 and obtain an appraisal if the value exceeds $5,000.

We are committed to using your contribution wisely and respecting your privacy.

If you are considering a food drive at your church, organization, workplace or school, please let us know. We will work with you to launch a successful drive that will bless those we serve.
